Series of questions Empty Series of questions

    Post by Tal'kerick Sun Sep 29, 2013 8:39 pm

Hello hello! After playing through my first weekend and managing to make it out relatively unscathed I have the following questions. I apologize if these have come up already but I did not see them on any of the threads here.

Does armor repair in between events? or should we mark down totals on our card at the end of an event?

How does a player gain more body? I see spells that heal up to 25 body but yet see no way that body can be increased.

Skill question: The skill on Plague elves - Locked Rank 1 Sorcerer Spell Slot (1 free) (Cost 281) Max Purchase 2, Is this saying that we get 1 spell for free and may be able to purchase two more in addition, leading us up to three? Also must these spells be the same or can they be separate choices?

Secondary question do these spell slots work just like any sorcerer spell slot where they can be regained through stones?

Learning Skills: From the rulebook - To learn self taught skills, your character must spend time role-playing in your Class' place of power (ie. the Druid's Grove or the Dragoon's Barracks). There is no time requirements on learning self taught skills. Skills must be written on your card before the conclusion of a game session.
Late before we left we were told that all common skills could be self taught without a teacher but this was not mentioned, also unless I am missing something these places of power/training have yet to be found so were we misinformed and should we be required to find a teacher?

Stun: I see stun defined two separate ways. From blood knight -  Target is immobilized for 5 seconds or until at least one point of damage or healing is delivered to the target.. and in the rulebook Target is dazed and can take no actions, including running. Which is the proper description?

When do items like Moon berries or Boggert spines (or whatever) expire?

Do moon berries count as a potion (must be conscious to consume) or a salve?

Is shield being left off the common list intended I ask since practically every other weapon is present there.

Thats what i've got for now.

    Thanks!

    1. Armor is not repaired automatically between events.

    2. There are mechanics in game that can increase you HP value.

    3. According to what is said you do get a total of 3. One is naturally free and then you must purchase 2 others. Don't forget these spells are locked.

    4. If the stone gives you a rank 1 spell slot then yes you will can refill them. Same goes for Potions or anything else.

    5. Anything from the common list can be self taught. Think of it as asking friends and reading from the library. (Not researching) It's common knowledge Smile

    6. Both descriptions are correct. Any stunned target is dazed and is immobilized until either struck or healed.

    7. Moon berries expire between events. Spines expire as well but also expire in-game

    8. You must be conscious to consume any item unless stated otherwise on the tag.

    9. Yes shields are purposely not included on the common list.

All answers are subject to change. Hope it helps!

    2. I again propose the question what is the purpose of a spell that heals 25 body if the max body is something like 7?

    6. I recommend streamlining them for player ease of understanding.

    7. I recommend putting an expiration date on all tags otherwise new players might not know this rule. I asked a few different people at the event itself and got answers from the end of period to they don't.

    9. Booooo

    Two new questions:

    10. Can melee skills be used by ranged weaponry, aka break shield with a bow if you have both skills.

    11. What are the rules on re-writing a character? How frequently can it be done or when? Examples from other games i've seen "You can completely re-write your character up till your Xth event" or "For Y SP you can unlearn a skill"

    Thanks Bobby!

    2. There are numerous ways to increase your Hp. Who says you don't want to heal NPC or living objects? There's a reason for it trust me Wink

    6. thank you it will be fixed as soon as possible.

    7. Any tag without an expiration that seems like it should expire, then it probably should of. Staffers are human Smile sometimes they forget. Look back to spirit of the game rull. I will look into making it a lot more clear.

    9. Sowwy

    10. For example if a skill says when you swing then it can only work with swinging weapons. It's clarified by the wording and spirit of the game. You think an arrow can shatter a shield? But I will look into it.

    11. Re-writes can only be done once per character. During the first event or prior to second event starting. Subject to change. As of this moment in unaware of any system to recycle skills but I doubt there will be unless its in game related.

    2. Oh sorry I somehow read your response as "there are NO ways" my bad! So I take it then that there are no permanent ways to increase body written into character development (short of maybe hidden skills) but many temporary ones.

    7. Every person has a different idea of when something should expire i'm not sure that relying on "spirit of the game" is in anyone's best interest. I understand that stuff happens, especially on a games first event it was just a suggestion.

    Thanks for the answers,

Well if you picked a berry or a spine or any product that's living and do nothing to preserve it wouldn't it go bad in a month if not less. That was my spirit of the game ideal lol

    -Bonbyhons

But that will be fixed. Things that expire will have a date. Those that don't won't.

    1) Armor will be reset between events for logistical reasons.

    2) There is a mechanic in place for characters to gain hp freely as your character advances. We will try and get this posted for you all in the near future.

    3) If an item expires there will be a date written on the item tag. The date is not the month issued, but the month it will expire.

    George.
