Some Questions for the Sake of Character Creation

Post by Reima on Wed Oct 09, 2013 12:32 pm

    Good morning!

I'm looking forward to stepping Beyond the Veil this winter (TITLE DROP!), and am planning on coming into game as a Human.  I love the idea of being suddenly displaced and trying to cope with a new world, but as a character who's been "alive" until that point, I need to write myself a background! So....question time!

    1)  The Human racial page on the website mentions that their world had fallen into calamity as a result of dragon attacks sweeping the realm.  Because of this, many had started fleeing through portals in hopes of ending up somewhere else.  Do I have this correct?  Also, is there any concrete information on who created those portals?

    2)  Is there a definitive place where those portals were supposed to go before realizing they were leading "beyond the veil"?

    3)  What was the stance on "magic" in the original Human world?  Was theirs a "high magic" setting, where it was commonplace?  Or was magic something unusual, causing magical things (and people) to be treated with wariness or hostility?

Thank you for the help, everyone!  These answers will really help in writing my character's story.  ^__^

You're a human: if you want to sound tough, when someone asks where you're from, say "Chicago".

    The rest writes itself...

We will send you the Human back story that answers all of those questions...except one. Magic is very commonplace in the human home world. Check your Pm.

May I also be sent a copy of this? the group I am planning on bringing to the game upon my return are all playing humans (myself included) so this would be a great help to us.

I have a question about races. I'm looking to join your larp at the may 30th game and was wondering if you have any rules on half breed races, such as a half human/half elf type of character.

    Half-breed rules

Post by Admin on Tue May 13, 2014 7:32 am

    Welcome aboard.

There are four rules to half-breed races.

    • They are for role playing purposes only. You get no benefits from being more than one race.

    • You must still pick a primary Race. For all mechanical purposes, you are that race. will receive those only those racials.(see rule #1)

    • You must meet 100% of the costuming requirements of your primary race.(see rule #1)

    • Humans may not be half breeds with anything.(This is for In-Game reasons)

So those are the rules on half-breeds. If you have any other questions, please let me know.
